Im curently driving a 70 olds delta 88 455 rocket its a beast with 325hp stock but, looking for smaller and better car on gas and i know a civic can keep up with a muscle car in its right tune. Im sellin my olds and hope to save about $3000. I can start with my (now parents 95 ex as stated above or buy used one locally idk? i was thinking find a used one cheap/auction/ for under 800,body not to concerned about.then spend the rest on engine-drivetrain what a should i look for thats some what cheap to tune i know where theres a 89-90? civic hatch stick,a 89? accord lx 2dr stick and of course the 95 ex.any help would be good thanks

89 Hatch can be purchased cheap, and is very lightweight.... I have had a 96 civic EX, a 97 DX, a 92 Del Sol, and my current car is a 91 civic DX.....

My favorite is definitely my hatch, besides the ride height it is an awesome car, very spacious and very nice interior....

I bought the car for 350$ with bad rings. I put my 97 Civic engine in it [D16Y7] and left it DPFI [Dual point fuel injected] until I buy parts to switch it over. It was a completely completely drop in swap, just replaced block and head.

95 EX would be a better car if you like A/C, Power windows, Power steering, etc. but manual is no problem for me.

I wouldn't go with an accord personally. What condition is the 89 and the 95?

Personally i believe if you dropped money on the 95ex to set-up it would be nice. Ef's I'm not a huge fan, but for the price of them it can be an easy buy for you. &Lastly I'd say buy a 92-00 hatch over coupes. I love hatches now.lol
