That actually already sounds like an awesome swap. Do as reaper says and you'll have that car at about as good as it can be unless you boost it.

If you're lucky you might be able to find a wrecked 02-04 RSX-S at a you-pull type junkyard; they came from the factory with the 6-speed and K20A2. The 05/06 RSX-S came with a K20Z1, and I'm not sure if it would be a direct swap as far as the head goes.

One thing to keep in mind if you want to go with the 6spd: the RSX-S is known for the "3rd gear grind". Now there was a Technical Service Bulletin on the issue with the solution of replacing the 3rd gear gear-set that fixed it, so it might not still be an issue (AFAIK there was no "true" recall on the transmissions; it was up to the owners to decide there was a problem and have it fixed).

*ninja edit: and Hobo, add some nice lumpy cams, Hondata K-pro (with a good tune, of course), and a lightweight flywheel and you'll have a very nice N/A K-series

Head swap from a RSX type S is a must, but if you ever plan on tracking or drag raceing this car, then i would keep the stock 5 speed and just add a LSD.

If this is going to be a every day car, then i would change the trans to the Type S as well.

But the trans is going to run about $900 -$1200.....a bit pricy.

Head swap is a lot cheaper and really gives you extra Hp fast.

well the car will b a everyday driver and also street raced on weekends. so im goin to look in to swapin the heads as u suggested reaper and then also i wanted to know what i can do to beef up the tranny! cuz honestly i dont just want a high horse-powered engine wit a weak tranny. would a tranny swap b a better choice or would addin a lighter flywheel be just as good?

Yeah, street racing isn't exactly the best idea. If you insist on doing it, please don't bring it up here.

Anyway, the stock transmission isn't really weak, but the 6spd has shorter gears which is generally better for acceleration. Installing a stronger clutch is about all you really need to do to your transmission. A lightweight flywheel won't make it any stronger, but since it has less rotational mass, it takes less power to spin and can start spinning faster, meaning the engine speed will increase faster and you'll see a little more power to the wheels.
