you might get a weak spark even if the coil is bad.

If the coil is going you'll get a spark then one day your car wont start...happened to one of my crx's....replace it with an msd external coil when you do, i spent almost as much replacing the stock one

my car just hit 100k, so bought a nice lil tune up kit..
replaced everything between the stock coil to the plugs.. (rotor, external coil, dizzy, wires, plugs.. all MSD)
came with a neat-o see thru distributor..

what was really great, I hooked up my stock coil with the new dizzy...checked out the spark on the cap and rotor...then wired up my external coil (MSD Blaster 2)
and the spark was much bigger inside the dizzy.. probably going to change the gap on my plugs because of it..

anyway, I'd recommend getting an external coil. my car idles a bit smoother.. that kinda thing..
