Default new car or keep the sedan?

So right now, I have a civic Sedan. 98, about 120k miles, in a fair condition.
Auto.
I am thinking about selling my dad's civic to get a new civic...my dad will also be driving this car until about June, beginning of summer vacation for me. He said if I could afford the car, selling the sedan, he is fine driving a manual because he always drove it 5 years ago.
so what should I do? making this sedan to manual would only take more time and alot of money...wouldn't it?
ps. if you have some nice civic coupe, in a good condition, 98, I would be looking around for one. I live in north cal.

man just look online at like cars.com or autotrader.com and check what they ahve ... you can always find a civic for like 3500 in decent condition and to be 5 speed... i paid 8000 for mine and it was in exellent conditon no dents or scratchs on it 60 000 miles 5 speed ex seden leather seats all maintance records and its a 2000 model... im syure you can find something in your price range...
