hello!

just bought the following:

2001 civic LX with auto trans for $8600. one owner, nothing bad from Carfax, has 82K miles on it. basic model, no frills. not sure of color, salesman called it "purple", tag said "plum"....any idea what the color is actually called?

also want opinions on the LX as a car in general. i know it's the "family sedan", but it's a commuter car, not a racer.

are there certain things i need to watch for as far as repairs go? do certain parts start going out at certain times?

i've always heard how reliable hondas are, how they keep their value, etc. my best friend went thru 3 preludes until he got the boxster.

i just came across a site with "reviews" of sorts, & saw a few "unhappy customers". i guess i'm looking for reassurance that these folks are few & far bwtween.

any opinions on the purchase? anything to keep an eye out for?

My woman has the same car and she loves it. She drives it at least 2-300 miles a week and has had it for 3 years with zero trouble or complaints. The one thing I would suggest is maybe get the timing belt changed.

 

As long as you take care of your car and do regular maintenance. You car will treat you right.

And as for the color plum and purple are pretty much the same. You can call it either way.

 

Not sure about the color. I still have the brochure from my civic - 02 EX sedan. They have a dark burgandycolor called Radiant Ruby Pearl. That's the only color like the one you descibed.
