Hicivic heads,here it goes first post. My 99 civic vti vtec DOHC has had many problems. Ive just about got it for everyday use one problem which is ever present is the vtec not running well. The car runs fine until the vtec kicks in at which point it will only rev upto approx 5000-5500rpm before going into a splutter. In 5th the car will not go above 100mph, changed many parts now. Car has air induction kit and stainless exhaust right upto the cat. This was done before I bought the car and many things are not up to the mark. I have removed the cat and now its even worse, the air flow breather pipe on the induction kit always blows its hose off when the engine stutters in vtec.

Thinking of going to orginal exhaust to try to solve problem. Any ideas?
