Default Pro/Cons of 2002-05 Civic Si

Looking to upgrade to a Honda built in this century. I love my 89 Prelude but need something a little newer.

I've test driven an 05 Civic Si from a dealer. It was kind of cool. I like it but what to do some research before pulling the trigger.

Any big things to look out for before purchasing? Any surprises? Common problems/failures? Expensive unusual/maintenance?

Thanks

pros:
K-series
6 speed (i think?)
cool looking
Si special interior
relatively new
probably low miles
timing chain as opposed to belt (requires less maintenance)
hatchback

cons:
not the best K-series
heavy for a hatchback
less aftermarket support than 92-00 Civics
Si's are thief targets (invest in a nice 2-way alarm and always lock your doors and roll the windows up)
parts are more expensive than 92-00 Civic parts
tuning is expensive

Thanks for the reply. I believe all of this hatchbacks are 5-speeds. I plan on keeping it stock, so no concerns about tuning it etc. As for theft, I work in a nice area and it's garaged when home. However, I think I'll look into an alarm.

I've found a low mileage from a dealer. I think I'm going to go that route. I have a Honda dealership mechanic who moonlights, so I think I'm OK on the maintenance.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks
Russ
