Default real electric supercharger?

Is there such thing as a real electric supercharger? There are alot of ebay ones which sell for $30+ and I looked at some of the seller's feedbacks and it looked like most people were satisfied about what they bought. I also googled Electric Supercharger and found this [link removed] selling for $199. How would I know which one works and which one doesn't?

Thanks

Removed the link as it could be construed as spam/advertisement.

Anyway, there are true electric superchargers that actually function as well as standard belt-driven superchargers. However, they're more expensive than a standard roots-type blower, rendering them more or less pointless.

Basically, if it costs you under $2k, it's basically a small fan that actually restricts airflow at high rpms.
