Default Regular to Synthetic

I was reading older threads about motor oil and the difference between synthetic and regular and I came across one post saying that they heard that if you had been running on regular for a while and then switch to synthetic that it could cause problems, is this true?

only if your motor uses or leaks any. its thinner than conventional oil, so it will leak and burn way faster than conven oil.

I have heard of switching from reg. to synthetic can cause leaks. If u are having any kind of leaking with the oil u are using now, expect more if u use synthetic since it is thinner. I wouldnt change just to be on the safe side, not worth going thru all the hassel IMO.

If you change all your seals and gaskets, can you make the change without worry?

You can change from mineral to synthetic and vice versa. Think synthetic blends that are offered otherwise.
