Default Remote Starter

I am having a lot of trouble finding people to install a remote starter kit I bought. Nobody wants to mess with the, or they don't know how to do it, or they are charging over $200. The kit comes with a movie and instructions on how to install it, but I've never done installed anything or even changed my own oil in a car before, so I don't think I'd feel to comfortable doing that. What do you guys think I should do? Try to sell them on eBay, try to install it myself, or cough up a lot of money?

what kind of car do you have (automatic or manual).

I am going to assume automatic, since you said shops WOULD install it. I would try to install it myself, with the help of a friend and see how that goes. Im sure there is someone on the forum who has installed one before, who could help you.

yes it is, but some shops won't do it on a manual because some people forget to take it off gear and it causes damage to the vehicle and property. they don't want to be liable

Yep!..cause my boy has a remote start on his 01 civic coupe 5 speed, and when he went to do an oil change, they left his car in gear and when he started it went right into the brick wall!!!!,luckly it stalled out b4 it hit or it wouldve been totaled! so be careful.

I am a MECP certified Mobile Electronics installer and I install remote starters all day especially this time of season. I haven't been working in the field long but I am a graduate of the RITOP school in Massachusettes and I have been working at a shop here in upstate New York for about 4 months now. I'm not sure where your located but I could install this in your car with no problems or guide you to do it yourself. If you want some help just let me know and I would be glad to walk you through it.
