Remove a/c??

Well, if there is only 1 more piece to fix the system, I would do it. I spent 800 to fix mine and I'm sooo glad I did. On those hot days I smile when I'm driving with my windows up and passing a car with the windows down and the other driver is sweating. I remember when that was me.
If you remove the A/C you'll reduce the weight of the car slightly but if you notice a difference, it'll probably be all in your head.

I dunno about that, in my car when i just turn off the ac i feel a diffrence. My dad calls it the turbo button.....
Thanks for all the advice everyone. I think I'll hold off on taking it out and check around for used compessors. If anyone noticed, I have a post on page 2 of general civic talk about 2 choices for a swap. When I swap I'm probably gonna be w/o a/c anyway. That's why I was considering taking it out now. But it might be nice to have until I swap... if i get it fixed

Watch mythbusters, apparently having windows down vs. windows up + A/C yield the same mpg.

Yea its soemthing like under 50-60 mph put the windows down and voer that use the A/C. I hate A/C though so I never use it even when its 90 degrees out. Im goin to tear mine out right now an dits in working condition I never used it and I'll sell you the compressor for $150.
