has any one painted there rims before im thinking about doing a gloss black with a red lip i found a diy and it looked sick i was wondering of anyone has done it because i want to know if it holds up

 

I'd say just power coat them. Way stronger and lasts longer. You can put the red stripe on yourself easy enough. How did you plan on sanding your wheels?

 

well i heard powder coat is is like 50 a rim if i had some really nice rims i would but there not lol and i have a sander to sand the rims

 

I've got the old rims off the hatch that I wouldn't mind selling. they have a lot of tread left on them too. then you'll have a nice set of rims!!

wash the rims real good before painting. wet sand using sand paper, spray some coats of primer, wheel paint, and clear coat. for the wheel paint i used Duplicolor Engine enamel paint. they hold up pretty good, after 2 years just some chipping, i plan to redo them soon
