rough idleing please help

Default rough idleing please help

ok i was in my moms car today and her car is idleing very rough. its a 1991 honda civic dx 2dr.

idle rough as in going up and down alot?


if so clean the iacv

idle
air
control
valve

its a common issue and a result of carbon build up.

here is a howto link and its pictures of 96 and up civic but is the same thing.

On the DPFI system found in the 91 DX, the IACV is mounted on top of the intake manifold on the cylinder #1 side. Otherwise the process is the same.

Also, have you inspected the plugs, wires, cap, and rotor?

Any CEL codes?
