Default shifting a auto

when you shift the auto trans with moving it up from 2 all the way to 4th, does this hurt your trans mission?

id have to agree.... dont try shifting your auto that way. the computer alone should control that!

just put it in D and stomp da pedal!

tho one bad thing is since i added my cold air intake ive lost ruffly 4mpg
not completly the intakes fault... BUT i love the sound it makes so i stomp the pedal more LMFAO.....
i know it will only get worse when i finaly add a header also....LOL

If you don't have anything to help out the original poster, just dont post. He didn't do anything to deserve a comment like yours.

to shift an auto manually just gives you more control over what happens, you can engine brake or let it rev up till you want it to shift. it doesnt hurt anything, its there for a reason. it will hurt it if you abuse it, like reving in neutral and putting it in gear, or leaving it in a low gear at high rpms for a long time.

in all honesty, shifting an auto, will make you lose speed....an auto shifts when the power band is on its way down....my LXi was an auto, and it shifted when the power band satrted to dissipate, right around 64-6500...
