Question so lost i here of a b20a but im stil confused help

im not exactly sure what motor this is can anyone help me out im not computer tech. and i just want to know if this motor is worth it or if its a waste and what kind of motor it is.

1.5L L4 SOHC 16 valve is it worth it and what kind of motor is it its in a 1988 honda civic LX sedan

the engine in a 88 lx is a D15B2 i beleive. a B20 was only found in 1996-2000 US and JDM honda cr-v's i think which i dont think would fit in a 88 civic? hope that helps

they make a mount kit for it.
it fits, but you'll need an SiR/USDM replica hood.
it's a B-series swap.
Hasport makes a whole kit for it.
You can also find cheaper mounts on eBay but they aren't as good.
You'll also need to figure out what you're doing for a transmission. Early gen integra cable transmission works, just need to shorten the linkage.
there's plenty of writeups on this, pretty common. people even throw on a vtec head to make more power.

It's a lot of work.
You have a D15b2. You would need to convert your dual point fuel injection to multipoint, on top of converting to OBD1 to be able to run the electronics from the B20a.

If you're looking for a beginner swap, look into DPFI-MPFI swap first. You'll just be doing some wiring and installing a different intake manifold and distributor, and ECU... do some research, anything is possible!

eff, I was thinking the CRV motor. my bad.
b20a's are garbage.

b20a's are garbage.
yeah i'd swap or even buy a newer civic if i were you, a eg (92-95 ) are only like $1500-4000ish depending on what you get. although i'm sure other people can provide other options for you if you want to keep your car.
