I'm still looking for an EK, and I found this on craigslist... he says there's some dents and bumper cracks:

I figure about $300 for new oem-style bumpers (or if I can find undamaged ones on ebay)... I have a gallon of metallic blue automotive paint in my room, so the condition of the body is no big deal (smooth everything out and spray it down... I'll probably pull the engine and paint the bay flat black or something eventually (and probably change the clutch since I plan on turboing the EK I get)).

Anyway (sorry, my ADD kicked in there lol), what do you guys think? Does trading my '94 (if he's willing to trade) and giving him like $1000-1500 cash sound fair? I might email him and find out if he's willing to do a trade... otherwise, I've got to figure out a way to get rid of my '94 fast lol

I think that's a good deal but if I where you i would try to sell the car 1stbecause more likely you will get more money for it. but giving him like 1000-1500 seems too much I think

I feel that the 99-00 body looks better than the 96-98. Further, I like the 92-95 body over the 99-00.

Either way, that guy can be talked down on his price a bit.

Okay, found a red '96 hatch (mmm.... hatchback... *drools*) for just under $5k at a dealership (meaning trade-in value)... at this point, I just want to get an EK (especially a hatch) and get rid of the EG. Check it out

bump for 2 reasons:

1) because I can [8D]
2) I actually have a legitimate reason (lol):
I'm leaning heavily towards the hatch... it's at a dealership, so I can get rid of my EG and buy an EK at the same time (meaning I won't have to drop $200+ and a bunch of labor into fixing up my '94 to sell). Another thing is from the looks of it, it doesn't really need any bodywork or anything. Also, since the KBB dealership value for a '96 with 130xxx miles is about $4500, I can probably talk them down to at least that.

Anyway, I got distracted again (it happens a lot when I'm excited lol)... Either way I look at it, I'm going to have to take out a bank loan to pay for the car (even with trade-in). How much do you guys think I should take out? $4500? $5k? I really don't have much planned in the way of mods for a while... just little stuff like an ex/si guage cluster, lip kit, buddy club spoiler, etc. (I figured going from an auto to a 5-speed will make it feel "fast enough" for a few months)

I'd say sell the EG and buy the EK Thats still a good price for the EK.

I sold my 95 EG for $3500 and got the EK.
Looks like your civic is in good shape. Put it on www.mautofied.com ask $3500 for it.

Trading sucks imo. Lose money that way.

If you were close to KY Id trade you streight up. I miss my EG
