Did you feel like it was worth it and suggest it for me? Did you have to make your own mounting setup or did the hardware work?

Everything that came with it worked. Didn't have to get creative. The ebay filter sucked a big fat hairy herp dick though.

I hope I get that lucky. I'm just starting to look into the CAI stuff, don't the filters come with the kit? If not and filters you could suggest? Lmao I guess I know to steer clear of the Ebay filters =]

Edit* APC filters

filters come with the kit. If its a name brand kit, good ****. If it's an ebay, throw the filter away and get a K&N.

If you are seriously looking to pay $285 for an intake, paypal me $200, I will buy everything you need and ship it to you. lol

You know that there will be almost zero hp/tq gains from this mod, correct?

I have to ask, what are the plans for the car in the future? Boost? j/w

However, to answer your question, yes, those should be fine. That is an *HCF Approved* filter. The piping is just a cylindrical hollow piece of metal, just like all intake tubes.

Edit: Where do you live as well? If you are in CA, you might as well go ahead and buy that intake as it is C.A.R.B. approved. Random intake piping with an AEM filter on it is not.

If you want a turbo, skip the intake. The intercooler and charge piping will replace it.

Without tuning, you will get about 1-2 hp from the intake. With tuning, you will get about 3-5 hp at most. For $300, and an average of 3 hp, that's $100 per hp. Get a nice set-up for your turbo kit (read everything until you understand it) which will probably run around $3000 for everything (little things add up fast), and net at least 80 hp. $3000/80hp = $37.5 per hp. In the end, the turbo (or boost in general) is worth it IMO.

So the turbo would replace the cold intake?
What do you mean read everything until you under stand it?
Like understand how it works and what I'll I need?

Yes. It really sounds like you have no clue what you are doing or talking about... usually I dont even post in these threads because of the questions you are asking are so basic, threads on them are littered throughout the interwebz and searching doesnt seem to like you. No offense, I just callz em as I seez em.

Read through the stickies in all of the sections, especially the turbo/forced induction section. Lots of great knowledge here on HCF. There is even a thread on what you need/and might want for your turbo kit. It basically spells it all out for you in that aspect. Now, understanding how each parts plays a role in the kit wont happen over night. As I said, just read your a$$ off until you understand it all. It is quite simple when you break it down and look at everything individually.
