Default Trunk Leak

Hi,
Recently i thaught i fixed the trunk leak by putting in a missing plastic grommet. But it still leaks and i think its due to the sunroof drain on the left side of the trunk. The tube seems kinda slow draining when i pour water down there. How specifically can i clean this drain tube the whole way? i think it mainly must be the bottom part where it joins in the trunk, can i just pour draino down there LOL seriously? thANKS

You could blow it out with compressed air, would be the easiest. Or use a long piece of wire.

Use an air chuck? i tried using a clotheshanger but it only got stuck at the beggining. It seems like if i blow all the buildup down it will get stuck at the weird exit by the rear bumper. Is it usually only the bottom peice that gets clogged up? Thanks

ya it usually cloggs at the bottom because the dirt dries up there and just keeps clogging up more and more. i just used compressed air from my home air compressor... put alittle soapy water down the drain holes and blew it thru again.

It seems like you found your source but one other thing to check with a trunk leak is the bolts that hold the trunk lid on. I have seen them get loose before and it let water in the trunk. Subs usually cause the problem.

Sweet! FYI it's probably coming in on both sides....was for me.....and i haven't fixed it yet

I'd recommend using some JB Weld or clear silicone II or something of that sort
