Default which to turbo???

ok i had posted that i was planning to go ls/vtec fully built with high compression. now i changed my mind and decided to go turbo. only problem is that i don't know if to turbo my d16z6 or the ls/vtec. by the way the ls/vtec comes with the ls tranny. what do you guys think is better?

turbo the D16.

cheaper to upgrade the engine you have, than the do the swap, then turbo.

i'm getting the ls/vtec swap for 500... which is pretty cheap since its taken apart. if i go ls/vtec i was gonna rebuild it with forged pistons and build my own turbo... which mostly i would spend around 1200 for everything. my friend tunes so he's hooking me up on that. but then if i turbo my d16, i could still buy the ls/vtec but build it with high compression pistons and sell it and use some of the cash from that and save the rest. know wat i mean?

You have a million questions all thrown together. You should make an itemized list of everything you will need and see how much it comes out to. Yes, your friend may tune things, but you still have to buy the ECU and/or which he can tune. Hondata (what I would suggest on using) is not cheap either.

If "money isn't an issue" then why are you even asking this question? Valvetrain isn't something to cheap out on, IMO. Drop a valve and **** up those pretty little forged pistons you were talking about buying and I bet you'll wish you had gotten yourself a nice set of springs and retainers.
