Use Amsoil in my 2005 AT Civic??
I have a 2005 Honda Civic. Its the basic VP model with the 1.7 liter and automatic tranny. I know that Honda recommends you only use they're oils but i dont believe every dealership or car manufacturer cause they always say they'res is the best.
Ive been running Amsoil in EVERY vehicle and motorcycle i own and never seen any problems with it. I am additionally a Motorcycle shop owner and an Amsoil dealer so i get a pretty hefty discount on it.
My only concern is if the Honda Automatic transmission fluid has different additives or some other special limiting factor that no other oil manufacturer puts in they're oil and thus will damage the tranny.
One more thing. Amsoil does not sell a Honda specific AT fluid. When i get on theyre website and look at the locator it just comes up with a generic AT fluid that works in place of Dextron, etc

A lot of people don't mind using non-honda fluids except the power steering/brake fluid/tranny fluid. I don't know why but a lot of people say that different additives are in these fluids. Some one else much more experienced will probably back me up but they'll have a good reason as to why use these honda fluids.

Thanks for the advice. I was hoping that it was all an urban legend and i could use my Amsoil at $6.00 a quart in it but i will trust men wiser than myself and bite the bullet and use the honda oil(in the tranny anyway).
