Default Amsoil in 98 Civic

I have been running Amsoil 5w30 in my 98 Civic for over a year now.I'm a little uncomfortable running it the suggested 24k or one year full change, with a filter and top off every 6k so,I did the filter change/top off at 6k and then did a full change again at 12k on this,it's first fill of Amsoil. Now that I've been running on Amsoil for one full change,I'm thinking of going the full 24k/1year,along with the 6k filter change.Any thoughts or advise?

regardless what type of oil you run you should change the oil & filter every 3 thousand miles/3 months whichever comes first. Your crazy if you go 24k or a year before changing your oil/filter

Sorry, but I have to disagree with this. The 3k interval seems to be something that benefits the American oil conlomerates, and that's why it's pushed by manufacturers ($$). Europe has been on 10k+ oil changes for a long time, and America needs to catch up. I change the oil/filter on my Integra every 10k, and it still runs like a top. Mobil 1 is guaranteed to 15k miles, so I'm going to push it even further. Changing your oil at 3k is a major waste of money/resources, but to each his own.

First of all I will have to say good choice on the amsoil. Second, I would say just buy some of their oil analysis and take a sample every 5K or so starting after 10 or 15K mark. This way you get a baseline of how your engine degrades the oil(all engines are different). After you get an idea of how your oil is doing, just follow that interval fro then on. Another thing I would say is make sure you are not using the -7500 version as those have a 7500 mile interval.
