Valve Adjusting Symptoms?

Default Valve Adjusting Symptoms?

i have a 2000 ex coupe 5-speed. what kind of symptoms would you get if your valves need to be adjusted?

Noise from the valve cover area while the engine idles. Sounds like clicking or ticking. A little of this noise is normal. If the adjustment is way off it can almost start sounding like a diesel.

mine only makes noise when the car is cold and warming up, after a few minutes, it goes away.

sounds more like a vibration to me, but i could be wrong.

slight tapping kinda sound. mine needs to be adjusted, its been tapping for a lil while now...pisses me off cause it just sounds so bad. hopefully i can have it done soon. i'd suggest having it done by a mechanic who knows what their doing, could do some major damage if not done properly..

yeah, you CAN do it by yourself, but you should know what your doing and have the right tools
