Default Visible Hood

I'm new to the forum, so I hope I'm not asking a question that's been answered.
Does anyone know the last year in which Honda stopped offering Civics that have (what I call) the "visible" front hood?
My 2012 model has the "sloping" hood and although I've tried for 3 years, I can't seem to adapt to it.
Without being able to use the hood as a reference point, I don't park as well or have a sense of how close I am to the car in front.

I saw a suggestion somewhere that putting something visible on the sides of the car would help. Makes sense, but I think it would look strange.

I love the Civic and don't want to change to a different model, so I've decided to try to find one that has a visible hood. Thanks for any information re: when those were last offered.

2005? This might depend on how tall you are as well.

Thanks for the information. I wouldn't have guessed it was so long ago!
I'm 5'4" and could see the hood easily in the '98 Civic, so the 2005 should be fine.

After registering for this site, I did read the rules at the following link but maybe I missed something. Did I violate one (or more)?

lol..It's a part of my signature.

Being the only active moderator is tough. I have dealt with some who try and skirt the rules and say they weren't aware there were rules on a forum. Nothing directed towards you.

the european and jdm models have an option for whats called a bumper pole it extends out of the front bumper like a antenna with a light on the tip to help you park you can find them on flebay or amazon.

Default bumper pole

Thanks for the information. I'll check it out on Amazon.
The device doesn't look bad, and it looks like it's retractable. That's a plus!
