Default wanted some advice for value of my car

i was just about to start a lot of modding on my car, when i got a better idea.

i have a 2002 LX coupe with 120,000 miles on it. i know that sounds bad, but honestly i just got it at like 115,000 and its in excellent shape, alot of my friends would say like "what?! thats got 120,000?" its like mint looks brand new nice and silver; it drives amazingly, and the clutch isn't worn at all, i match rpms everytime and i guess the previous owner did too, either that or its all just highway miles.
anyway, its a really nice car in excellent shape and anyone could tell by driving it.

i had the idea that instead of this car, i should buy the 2000 si with either the same or less miles. i figure i can probably even make money off the trade, and i'd be getting an all around better car, just 2 years older. 2000 si has all my features plus more, and it comes stock with 160 hp instead of 115. and its the b16 instead of the d17.

i think its a good idea, i was wondering what anyone's thoughts were on if they think its a good idea, or how much they think my car is worth and how much im looking at in value for a 2000 si.
( i was thikning my car is worth 6500 to 7000???)
-also if anyone has any help in knowing anyone who's selling the 2000 si)

pps: if you dont like this idea, what other car do you think i'd like? hondas/acuras/ in my price range

2000 Si is a much better car

2002 LX is not really worth modding IMO

+1

Try and sell it for 7k, and see what sort of offers you get. Nothing bad can happen if you post it on craigslist just to see what sort of offers you can get.

I don't think you could find one for that price with less than 120,000 miles unfortunately. I dunno what area your in, but you MIGHT be able to find one for that price with around 150,000 miles. You can get deals on salvage titles and repaired ones of course that is takingmore of achance.

Go to Kelly Blue Book . Com (KBB.com)...plug in all the information for both cars, and you can find the retail, private sale and trade-in value for both vehicles.

yeah i did, and i found some good deals and then some major good deals that are just way too shady. im thinking these ones are cheaper because they are unknownly worn out by modders who don't maintain the vehicle. one of them was like 56,000 miles on it for 8 grand, by dealer; get outa here lol, there's always a catch with a deal like that.

I would atleasttest drive it and scope it out. If it seems like the engine is straining, has pings or knocks, burning oil, clutch is slipping or hard to shift, etc. obviously reconsider. Sometimes people want tojust get rid of there car quickly, liketo buy a faster car,or financial troubles whatever. But yea if it seems to good to be true usually is[8D].
