Default warning sounds

Hi everyone I'm new to this.My question is when I leave my lights on or the key in the ignition and open the car door,a warning use to go off letting me know. Now it does'nt.I checked the fuses and they are ok.What do I need to do to rectify this problem short of taking it back to the dealer?

does the dome light turn on when you open the door? (assuming the dome light switch is in the correct position)

if it doesn't, the door sensor may be broken. This happened to me and i didn't feel like buying a new one so I took mine off of the rear door. The door sensor is located in the door jam, and it will look like a switch kinda. When you close the door it will press the switch, turning the light off and making the warning sound for the ignition stop. When you open the door, the switch turns the dome light on and warning signal for the ignition.

The door sensor should be really simple to switch out for a new one. Mine had one screw and a female quick disconnect plugged into it for wiring.

To get a new one you can search on eBay for used ones, go to a junkyard, or you may have to go to the dealer (it's not an expensive part)

The older models did not have a headlight warning. Since yours did before (and like trustdestruction suggests, the door switch is OK) you probably need to replace the beeper module itself, under the dash.

There is also a switch which it's only purpose is to detect if the key is in the ignition and activate the beeper, that can go bad.
