What is the difference between constantly trading in cars and driving one forever?

ive spent less money replacing almost every moving part (engine (turbo'd), trans (converted to 5spd), all brakes (inc. rear disk swap), most of suspension, in my 91 civic than u have spent in "regular" maintenence at the stealership
i think somethings wrong with that picture

When I crashed my '96 lx it had 200K miles on the clock with the stock brakes. The only thing I did to them was replace a worn dust cover on one of the calipers and did the rotors. The likelihood of everything failing like that is slim to none unless of course someone did put the wrong fluid in there. It just doesn't happen on regularly driven cars.
