Default What to do with a 1982 Civic

I've got an 1982 Civic with only 85,000 original miles on it. The body however is rusted mess. I've called wrecking yards but no one wants a car more than 15 years old. It runs and it's smogged (here in California). Any idea about what to do with it? Since the first of the year, the charitable donation thing won't net anything. Are there wrecking yards that want parts for a car like this? Or a way to sell it easily? I'm not expecting more than a few bucks, but I'd like to do something useful with a car that still has a good engine, transmission, etc.

Thanks!

Donald

Give it to me and I'll make it into a classic.

Damn, I have always wanted one of those. Seriously. Ship it down to Louisiana. How much you want for it?

F/I h22 swap?

ok, j/k. seriously, i would keep a car like that. it's really not worth anything, but that's the beauty of it. if you need some parts for your 300z or supra tt or F/I Si, you don't have to hope the car makes it to the store and back before you fix it. just take the beater instead. you can also drive it if you know you are going to a high crime area, who's going to steal it? and besides, if someone rear-ends you, the insurance money will probably be more than you could have sold the car for anyway. it beats having your "baby" totaled on a trip to buy laundry detergent.
