Default What engine should I swap

Hi, this topic has probably been beat right to death but my son and I are going to pull out the engine out of his 2001 civic 2 door and look for something with some get up and go. I was wondering can someone tell me the best way to go without spending a big bunch. I was thinking of something that would pretty much bolt in without changing trans, ecu and axles but if I have to I will. What engine out there from Honda will bolt in and what is the maximum horse power I can get with or without changing a bunch of things.

There is nothing you can drop in that car with out some modification to that car, your best bet is a turbo.....or something over the top, like a K swap.
Hasport makes a kit for your ride, but it will cost you.

Default What engine

Ok, thanks for the info, some mods I dont mind, so besides a turbo which engine configuration would be the best and easiest. How much is involved in a k swap. I see the mount kit at hasport but if I decide to buy this do I have to change anything else.

Quick Google Search

OK, Please allow me to set all your innacurate thoughts aside here.
H22,b16,b18,b ANYTHING WILL NOT FIT.

K series swap is the only engine swap you can do. I own a 7th gen and know for fact so please just read and listen.
K swap will cost you 10,000 to complete. Unless you do everything yourself and as cheap as possible, maybe youll spend 8000.
It is a very extensive and expensive swap, Definatly not for the first time swapper or someone new to hondas.
If you want to make power in your EM2 you can.
You need to build a solid bottum end and turbo it.
Dezod.com is your best bet for the best parts. He can also help you alot on the knowledge department.
A turbo kit on a built d17 can easily push 300whp which would be more power than youll need, and youll only spend a fraction of the money and make almost double the power of a k swap.

Nikes right, you can only swap a K or do a turbo set up. Thts what sucks about that generation, you are very limited with your engine swaps.

Technically, you can swap in any engine. And I mean literally any engine. It just depends on your budget (and if you want to argue about that google "civette")

Anyway, a K-series is the only practical swap. I'd say turbo, but the d17 is quite honestly a bad motor all around for making power; they don't respond well even to boost.

Boost that bitch. I say do it run rods and pistons and boost 15psi. Do not do this yourself do not try it. Where ya from I might be able to get ya hooked up I have allot of friends that own other shops out there or ya might be close to mine. I can make ya a parts list and get ya some really good prices too.

Ya ur very limited, have you ever thought of just selling it and getting a 6th or 5th gen? that way you can swap alot more engines alot easier.
