I want to take out the dashboard and put in a custom one. The whole point of me doing this is so I can add a inscreen to the dash. I don't really care how much the weight is or whatever I just don't want it stock. I want it to look nice in the inside. I am doing interior work. But im not sure what to do or how to approach this, like I said I only have ideas and need people to give me a good direction on how to do the things that I would be able too....


Can anyone help me?

You dont really have to remove the entire dash board, ie the long piece of plastic on the dash that goes from good to door...many people remove the console, use a dremel to cut out enough room for your LCD screen, put the LCD screen in with a bracket, then bondo it up, and apply vinyl dye or similar to paint it to match the rest of the interior...here is a sample picture which looks pretty clean...

They sell these things, its like an LCD sceen that fits inside your CD player unit - it comes out and retracks when you dont want it out...that would like pretty clean.



Someone on this forum did the following with the same interior as yours...I dont think it looks nice, but theres not really many other place to put it...

What is your idea ? If you want more replies than mine there are other specific forums where people are obsessed with this type of thing...maybe they could offer more advice if you want to make something more custom...

 

Yeah i say you use one of those flip out monitors. Unless you wanna do a lot of custom work for show

 

you could also get the jdm audio console with the double DIN mounting spot, and put a screen in that
