Default What was your first Honda?

Many of us have had more than one Honda be it whether you were just plain spoiled or like me you buy cheap ones and run them into the ground and start over. But even if youre on your first tell us what you love about it. If youve had several list them all and tell what your favorite one was.

Ill start, my first Honda was a red 1987 crx base model. It was beautiful with brand new paint with a grey 2 tone stripe along the bottom. 5 speed (thats all i mess with), i learned to drive stick on this car. Paid 2500 for it. Left it stock, blew the head gasket and sold it, this was long before i joined the forum. I had no clue how to work on a car.

My second was a blue 1991 dx hatchback. Original paint was flawless. Paid 1000 for it. Had bad cv shafts so i went straight home and had a friend show me how to change them. Another friend sold me a bunch of goodies for it the same day for 500: a set of 17" motegis on fuzion zri's, drop zone springs and coilovers (junk but i didnt care), a short shifter, and a short ram intake, front and back sway bars. I instantly fell in love once it was all installed. I miss that car still. Same story, blew the head gasket and wasnt skilled at working on cars yet. Sold it for pennies.

After that i bought a 1998 ex coupe for 4500. this is when i first joined the forum as elfreaky70363, it was nice, all black, kitted out, 17" 6 spoke rims with chrome lip, skunk 2 coilovers and tokico shocks, aem cold air intake with bypass valve, apexi catback exhaust (it sounded amazing, very deep note), apex i vtec airflow controller, b&m short shifter, carbon fiber hood, front and back sway bars, then broke a connecting rod. Got fema money and blew it on a jdm h22 swap, had it built with eagle connecting rods, je pistons 11.5 to 1 compression, stage 2 cams, port and polish, valve and spring swap, dc ceramic coated headers, stage 2 clutch. And then blew that motor a month later due to having the wrong ecu, an automatic! the mechanic told me my up and down idle was due to my cams so i believed him and the acceleration was vicious so i thougt it was all good. when it blew my life was on a downward spiral so i quit posting because i was embarassed i had spent so much money and lost it all. I sold that car for pennies too because of the situation i was in.

Years later my wife and i bought a 2001 ex coupe. It was blue and beautiful, tokico shocks again, not sure of the coilover brand, short ram intake, sway bars front and back, and 17" rims with chrome lip. Sold that one for what we paid, 3200 and bought an accord followed by another accord.

Now im on my second ef hatchback. I love it but not as much as my first hatchback. That was my favorite Honda by far.

Ive always said that 200+ hp is all you need on a honda to have a great time. Its a shame their luxury line was so problematic.

My first "Honda" was a bike in the early 70's

My 2nd was the 2013 Civic I just leased in January. So far I really like it. It is what I was shopping for. Relatively inexpensive, good interior space for the category, and great gas mileage. In winter conditions, my first tank with mixed city/hwy got me 28.5 mpg. 2nd tank is running about 1 more mpg, probably due to me reducing warm up times a bit and driving like a little old lady. This summer I'll expect mid 30's on avg.

A 1992 Honda Civic LC 4 Door. Had it for 2 months... Coming around a corner a truck was halfway in my lane so I swerved to prevent a head on collision and ended up hitting a telephone pole instead.

An 86 accord that the lost all gears except 2nd. I would drive down the road going forward but the shifter would be in reverse. After that no more automatics. Then onto an 86 legend, 88 Integra, 99 Integra, 94 del sol. Now I'm picking up an 96 LX sedan manual tomorrow for $2250.
