A complete engine for under $200?? and a transmission for $150? I can't even find D series transmissions for that much.

somethin's fishy

lol can you say bs lls. I have decided to go with an ls/vtec in the light of my tight money issue.

Curious what engine from the third generation acura ls should i et the b18a1 or the b18b1?

I am sold in the future after getting the engine and buying the motor mounts to put a fully built head by me. Currently the vtec head will be using would be off the b18c5 motor.

b18a1 = 2nd gen (DA 90-93) and B18b1 = 3rd gen (DC 94-01) if I recall correctly. Basically the same motor. However, I would just go for an OBD1 B18B1 and call it a day.

they say that the b16 head that came in the 99-00 SI were great flowing heads. If I'm not mistaken, they're about the same as a type-r head, but cheaper. I'd probably go that route... but if you're gonna build it, I dont think it would matter that much. If you randomly found...oh say... a cheap GSR head on Craigslist, it would probably be worth picking up if it was cheap enough and you were just gonna have it port/polished later anyways, know what I mean?

...I was answering your question... Should I repeat myself?

b16 si head = type-r head > GSR head

You said you were curious... you should no longer be curious. lol
