Danomatic's Update Thread: Modifying the EJ1
I thought that I had snapped it when I broke it loose because it made a huge snap noise and was really loose but then I pulled it and then was like o I guess I didn't. o yeah plus I had a pipe on the end of my breaker bar lol.
Minor set back....
....The turbo sits too low for the oil drain line to properly drain. So, I bought a cast manifold the has the wastegate flange on it along with a T3 connection. I be able to eliminate the wastegate adapter and the HF manifold to T3 adapter...
...I have to wait for the damn manifold to come in though.

You could have turned the O2 sensor bung into a wastegate flange. Seen that done before with the HF Manifold

Like that or you can weld a wastegate flange directly on top of the O2 sensor hole and bore out the hole to 38mm (or whatever size your wastegate is)

So, instead of ghetto rigging any more of this project I decided to drop the whopping $75 on the cast manifold with the waste gate located where ALL FOUR collect, none of that single exhaust rung crap.
Pictures meow...

Tomorrow I'll be marking the drain hole on the oil pan and looking for a place to bend my downpipe (or cut it to bits).
If I was uber rich I'd buy 4-5 of the same tubular manifolds and just switch 'em out when they crack.

if its that tight it will just turn the motor over.
