Yeah, I recovered the door panels for $8.00 (fabric on sale, hehe). Don't waste your money with some kit. Plus, I don't have red door panels anyway.

As for performance, I might get one, don't really know just yet, but one thing i do know, is that the y7 manifold does suck (and not literally). I guess I could get a y8 mani and sell my y7 and intake to boot to pay for it. The reason I'm holding off with any performance parts for the past couple of years is because I'm probably swapping out to either a gsr, ls, or h22 in the future when I'm out of college and actually have money and a steady income. No need in "hooking" up a d16y7 when I'm not looking to boost.

your gonna have to do some kind of better write up on the Y8 intake swap....
i demand it.
because id really like to do the Y8 intake swap on my Y7 but i got no idea what it all needs for it to be true and CEL free...
i want to know what kinda car ya got it from also im not sure if the manual/auto intakes are different or not... i know from switching from a auto to manual theres some kinda sensor difference. also abotu the throttle body as well.
im very interested in doing this swap!

If I get to do a y8 swap first I will post a write up. I am going to use this as my guide.

Y7 to y8 intake manifold

And EJ, there is ALWAYS a point is hooking up a y7. The y7's longer gears, while designed for efficiency, give it more time while on boost.

^ lol, yeah, i like the longer gearing, but yet, I think they're still too short for my taste . I don't know, I might boost it, but I think I might be able to get a hold of a ls swap or something maybe during the summer when I have a steady income, school budgets suck. That way I could either go for an ls/vtec setup, or I could go with a boosted ls setup.

Addiction, it's actually pretty easy. There's only a few things that get a little confusing and it all depends on what year car you have. things like air injection, iacv setup, tb spring and cable setup, and maybe a fitv sensor. And yes, the automatic and manual do differ in iacv sensors and throttle body setups. Even if I don't do it, I can help you out if you need it.

^ That was me that outbid you......lol, j/k

But yeah, your best bet will be the 96-98 D16Y8 AUTOMATIC manifold. The 99-00 will work, but you have to plug the air injection port. and you need to reuse your y7 fuel injectors and rail unless you want to run lean with y8 injectors
