Hobo's 2000 LX daily driver

These things cleaned up alright. I took them to the car wash, sprayed them with engine cleaner/degreaser, waited a few minutes, then paid my $1.25 to blast the **** out of them. The top one (driver's side) is the one I've been working on more so far. I cleaned it by hand after the spray down. Once I get them completely back down to the stock paint, I don't think I'll even have to repaint them.

Man....i got behind on this build lol! That Civic Badge looks pretty sweet in the grille, and the paint matches really well Definitely a better use for that emblem than sitting around my house.
And i agree, just paint the stuff while its off the car

Ok, so I lied when I said the car was completely de-riced. I tend to forget those awful hub caps. Well, I was digging in the garage today and found the old stockers. I immediately grabbed the tire iron and went to work.
I have NOW unpimped ze auto. The 4 ricey hub caps and the 1 spare hub cap are now sitting out by the street with the rest of the plastic recycling stuff. I'll keep the stockers on until the rear disc brake conversion is done and I find some suspension parts I can afford. Then the rims go on until i find some Si rims.
Remember kids: "Anything is better than stock" = EPIC FAIL

The capitalist in me wanted to, but the EXACT same ones are $14 new at WalMart. These were 3 years old, slightly curbed, really dirty, and ****, I didn't want to go to the trouble of cleaning them to sell. Plus, I will not encourage ricing out another car with those. They went from my 92 EX to my 2000 DX to my 2000 LX. The cycle must be broken.

Steelies + stock ride height + surface rust and faded paint on the steelies = get laughed at as you drive by around here.
In strange news... someone snagged the hub caps off the side of the road. Wtf? they left the metal rings that hold them in place!
