Lip came yesterday, did a mock up and fitment was great. Its way too cold to paint it, so I guess I'm going to rock it unpainted until spring. If work will let me bring home one of our turbo kerosene heaters Ill spray it sooner in my garage.

Finally have the money saved up for a new tranny. I'm not liking the hydro to cable conversion that was on my car when I bought it, so Im putting in a hydro tranny. I found an ITR with Haaz LSD for a great price on HT so its looking like I'm going to get it!

Got my new clutch setup today! For the new hydro trans. After the tranny and new clutch go in, I will be ready for boost!

I thought the stock LSD in the ITR was fine, why would they change it out for Haaz.

Stage 2. And I have no idea why anyone would take out an OEM LSD. I ended up passing on it once I read more about Haaz LSD's. So I found a GSR trans locally. I couldnt make up my mind on what I wanted. Ive heard LS would be best since they are longer geared and Im boosting. But Ive road in turbo cars with GSR trannys in them and it was a blast. So GSR it is, keeping stock flywheel.

I started cleaning up the GSR tranny I picked up. I got the exterior of it degreased and polished up a little.

I haven't messed with any other parts of it yet. What is safe to use to clean up the inside? Im not cracking it open, just the inner area where it bolts up to the block. I don't want degreaser to get anywhere it shouldn't.

So plans for the near future are...

Get the GSR trans installed with the new Exedy Clutch
Find some steelies to roll on so I can have my C8 lips refinished
Get my CTR rear lip painted at the local Maaco
Start the interior and turbo setup

I would think anything is cool to clean the bell housing. The part that matters is sealed inside. Just make sure it won't leave a flammable residue.

I used some Brakecleen on it. Then started sanding it with some 600 grit to kind of polish it up some.
