F@ck yea! A free car is a free car And it goes by generation of Civic...EF (your body style), EG (92-95 body style), EK (96-2000), idk what the other ones are but those three are the basics.

***update

finally sold my old 17's to some kid with a silver civic coupe. I talked to him about it a little bit before I left. Apparently he had bought the car from an old woman whose husband had recently died. It only had 94,000 miles on it. Not sure of the year, I didn't stick around long. But he only paid $950! I congratulated him on his deal. (I noticed as I was leaving that it was an automatic... but at least it was an EX with a sunroof)

Anyways, he gave me $300 which I'm pretty happy with. I'm runnin really low on funds these days and I owe both my dad and my girlfriend money.

Besides all that business, I've also made some headway as far as my insurance claim goes. They've got two estimates and pictures of the damage and they are sending the estimates to an auditing company. They'll send me a release via email which I need to sign and send back to them. Then I can get my check and finally get my civic back on the road again!

You can...just keep an eye out on Craigslist...one will show up (it won't be in a very good condition I am sure though) lol

just got my check in the mail today (finally). I'm on the lookout for a door in a junkyard, but haven't been having much luck. I'm trying to keep my costs down as I am in the middle of moving and I'm afraid of getting caught by unforseen expenses during the moving process.

I knocked the shattered glass out of the door and have been driving it around like that. When I leave it parked or its about to rain I stretch a plastic bag over the window and tape it shut. Its pretty ghetto, but I haven't had any leakage yet. The place I'm moving into has a garage, so it should be pretty safe after the move.

I've also been strongly considering a turbo build for my car recently. I'd like to rebuild the transmission with new synchro's (I've got some grindage when shifting into 1st and reverse). After thats done I'm thinking of buying a used d-series from a wrecked civic. They go for about $200 around here. I figured I could tear it down in my garage and start rebuilding it with new parts over the summer/winter and have it ready for a turbo by next summer. After being rebuilt with new rods/pistons etc., it should be capable of handling between 250-300 hp.

I'm second-guessing my h22 build because I'm not sure I'll be happy with the 200 hp it puts out. and if I wanted to build it further, how would I? They're not very turbo-friendly and resleeving is way too expensive. PLUS, from what I've read their transmissions aren't very strong. (which is what has really steered me away from the H build...)

I found a *killer* deal on a k20a3 (yes, I know its the least powerful of the k-series engines, but it would certainly be a better base to build upon than the H-series I was planning on previously)

its a k20a3 with transmission, ecu, uncut harness, mounts and axles. I know that I wouldn't need the mounts and axles, and I'm hoping he'd be willing to cut me a deal on the rest of the swap. We'll see. I emailed him a few minutes ago.

*keep your fingers crossed*

ps- If I have enough after I get moved and settled in, I may end up buying this engine instead of fixing my door. I can stand to drive around for awhile longer with no window on my driver's side. hahaha, at least I'll have a k-series (prepares for flaming)
