Speed JUnkyz saves a life
Ok i fixed the starting issues... i just need to fix up the reverse lights, Im still trying to find what colors it is. and which colors to connect them to lol
I also ran into a little problem last night, it was raining really good and just as I was approaching my house when I would give it gas it would sputter and bog out. as I turned into my driveway it shut off. Then I was hard pressed to get it started again. I thought possibly it was that water got into my air filter I started it today and it started just fine, idled fine, and rev a little just fine. At idle i did take notice little water sputtering out the exhaust tip. Weather is chilly so i thought maybe its just condensation. Anyone have any idea on whats up? I am a little scared to drive it lol Im afraid of what I might find out!

if it was raining and your ride started to sputter... IMO you probably need to replace your distributor cap. sounds to me like alittle water got into it making it run crappy. it should fire up now no problem.
ive had that problem before. its probably either cracked or the seal has just gone bad and let afew drops of water around it.
it doesnt cost to much so go ahead and replace the cap and button at the same time.
you dont want to much water in the distributor because the stock ignitor or coil what ever you call it internaly is very prone to shorting out and burning itself out!

Thanks for the feedback...i think water got into the air filter, cause it runs fine ever since. The next day I put in a splash shield in the wheel well.
Update:
Ok well I have finally got the thing running to where I just sit back and wait for something to break lol... Now I have moved onto the condition and looks of it.
Past week or so I been pulling dents, mudding low spots and hammering high. Now Im sanding these spots and pin pointing more.
Today was a little ****ty out so i decided to post pone body work and moved onto the interior detailing. Here are some snap shots of the progress. Enjoy
The passenger side looked just as bad as the driver side does in this picture. I was half way and thought, I need to take pics of this mess lol. This poor car lol....

Finished shampooing the carpets and detailed the rest. Shampooed the seats too

Its ugly i know lol but rest assured soon enough it'll be at least tolerable.

Since I don't have carpet or that cover that goes over the tire. I figured I would try something. Im thinking im going to roll some rhino liner in there. that way if i have to transport my tools I do have to worry about ruining anything
This is just some spray. I thought it was same but it isnt lol. so now i gotta sand it and roll the liner on lol..

i wouldnt bedline the trunk!
if anything slap the spare tire back in and buy some MDF 1/2 or 3/4 and make a solid floor for the trunk and then just carpet it!
its alot easier than just painting a ugly bare trunk!

for what a spare tire or fullsize spare?
but the wood deck is easy to build for it! you just buy a piece of 1/2inch mdf and get a large cardboard box, or 2medium boxes and tape em flat together
then simply put the cardboard in the trunk and start drawling and cutting it out to the shape. it doesnt have to fit the whole thing just overlap afew inches of the wheel well. front to back all the way tho making on only about 1/2 to a inch short if you gotta but youd want a snug fit if you could to keep it from posibly clunking around. so make it longer first to be sure it will be snug and then if it doesnt fit then cut it down alittle more.
then once you have the wheel opening done then you can easily just cut some pieces for the sides to contour the sides nicely. then just carpet it. its really not hard at all making a deck for it!
but if your lazy.... sure you could buy one.

but for 50bucks you can make your own cheaper and make a full floor and carpet it for that price
and if you dont have the factory carpet side pieces i can get them for ya for a price... not sure how much my yard would charge me for the carpet, all depends if my friend is on the register or not.LOL

I just used the carpet for a cutout. I test fit, trimmed one place, and it fit perfectly =) It's SOOO much nicer than that stupid fiber board.
If you're worried about road noise, just throw the spare in and put some of this down anywhere there's bare metal. Makes a world of difference

Just an update. I havent really had time to finish the body work. But I have a couple leaks I wanna repair, Im also changing the exhaust, and setting up some sounds in it.
This exhaust is just way to loud for a stock NA motor lol

Ok wow I need to stay on top of the updates HAHA...
Here are some now
I got the 1.6 swap done, since the other was blown lol Below you can see a little vid of it.

Blown 1.5l... 3 and 4 were gone

So basically after the motor was swapped and everything seemed mechanically stable, next thing was to make it look half acceptable. So we are going with the common Ricer/JDM wannabe/ cheap *** ***** Primer black.
Isnt show room nice, but it is all one color lol.
I had to source a door, rear bumper, and front bumper because to repair them would have been more money since I suck at body work! OH! and a fender lol Below you can see some shots as I sanded and primered.
Front and Rear Bumper before: sanded down with 80>180>320

After:
Sprayed with Utech black primer, then sanded again with 320 and sprayed again with primer. Not the best looking job, but then again Im not looking for looks, Im looking for uniform lol

Fender Before:
I had to replace the Passenger side. When I bought it it was wrecked. Smoothed out all the little dents and waves. The fenders were the easiest
Again sanded with 80>180>320.
Front bumper here is the extra spare while I finish the actual one.

Fender after:
Primered then sanded with 320 and sprayed again.

Now with the Bumper mounted. Its looking sexier than it was HAHA...which is sad cause I think its ugly lol

Couple shots of the other panels needing love lol...The doors were a F****NG B***H! excuse my french little kids...I replaced one door cause I got fed up with it lol and the other door got some Mud today(no pics yet)....This car has more waves and bumps in her body than a 50 year old woman with 2 kids lol. Its not going to be perfect and I just need to get that through my little head...
