ok, its been a while so heres the updates. i was being a complete *******, i was pissed, floored it in the parking lot (it was empty at 3am), the parking lot dipped down, then there was a sewage grate, then it came back up. it was pretty deep. well i managed to hit it going like 40mph. i bent my 2 front axles, somehow managed to break both front calibers, when the transmission hit the ground, i guess it pushed up on it and i broke a motor mount. along with these damages, i also need to replace my timing belt, cat/exhuast, and something with the back end. this happened like 2 months ago. well today, i just got the axles and brakes fixxed. in january, ill be able to get the timing belt and water pump done. im debating wether i should save up for a new car or just keep fixxing this. im going to have to keep dumping money into maintenance and never get around to a swap and ****. so idk. i been lookin at a few cars. im interested in this sentra ser spec v, wv gti, del sol, and a crx. i been talking to them all, but i have too much attatchment to this hatch to let it go. idk what to do.

edit: in order for you guys to help me out, you should probably know my situation lol. im in a program at college that will pay me 400 every semester for car repairs, OR they will give me 1700 for a new car. i put my car on CL hoping to get atleast 2500 for it and im getting offers for 300 bucks. Well i just used this semesters repair money on my axles, and next semester is going to the timing belt and stuff. I just got a new job today, so itll probably be febuary before i can put my own cash into the car because i have to pay my car insurance and go christmas shopping. there, now you know my situation. what are your opinions.

if you think its worth the time and money to fix it go ahead and keep it otherwise get another car and you won't need to deal with it. its all up to you

Ouch, $2500 for damaged? Not gonna happen, sorry. We got two running decent high mileage civics for $2300 and $2700.

Couldn't make an insurance claim? They would have totalled it and you could have found a way to cheaply fix.

Welcome back!
IMO i would get something new. something manual! =]
lol jp
1,700 is a good chunk of free money for a car.
i would grab that and sell the hatch.. or trade the hatch and put money on your side for a better trade?

My opinion is keep it and fix it. You would be lucky to get $2k for the car if you sold it with the wheels and all that.

thats what ill do, but speaking of wheels, when my calibers were spilling brake fluid everywhere, it totally trashed my front wheels. i sprayed wheel cleaner on it, hosed it off, sprayed motor cleaner on it, hosed it off, sprayed car cleaner on it, scrubbed the hell out of it, and their still trashed. is there anything that would make em look better temporarily till i swap over the winter wheels? also, when i got the whole winter to mess with em, should i re-polish them or paint them. for paint, i was thinking white or bronze. but idk what to do. i kinda like polished but i think painted would be eayer to maintain.
