trustdestruction's Civic del Sol Si Project
Update:
-bought a Nardi shift ****. I'm keeping the Buddy Club one, and might switch them out every once in a while. I got this one for a good deal from a guy on Honda-Tech and fell in love with the ****.
-I contacted the guy I bought my last shift/e-brake boots from and i'm buying more from him. My short shifter is longer than stock and I want my boot up to the bottom of my shift ****, so he's going to make it 2" taller for me, and the e-brake boot's handle hole will be 1.5" in diameter to accommodate for my Sparco e-brake handle. It's gonna be just black with black stitching, instead of the blue stitching I currently have. I look forward to having perfect fitment boots to match my mods.
-I bought JDM del Sol sunvisors brand new and they're on their way here. It comes as a set with the roof panel trim, a-pillar trim, and the sunvisors. The reason for this is that the USDM visors SUCK, and i'm fed up with them. The pictures are not of my car, I don't have the visors yet.
USDM (notice only the small part folds down... big part is solid in place):

JDM:

-Trying to fix my gas mileage (I get about 28 mpg). Buying an OEM cap/rotor, PCV valve, and fuel filter. Hopefully that will do it. PCV valve has never been changed.
-Found the rattle in my rear interior. When I would go around corners, something would slide around on the body of the car under the rear interior panels. Turned out it was a bolt rolling around. Got that out of there today.
-Found the MOST ANNOYING RATTLE in the world finally that is in my driver door. After taking the door panel off 20+ times and trying to secure things, I have found out that my door hinges are worn. I'm buying new ones and the rattle should finally be gone. :excited:
I'm still doing the turbo project of course, just gonna take care of these things and then it'll be right back on track. Only things I have to buy as of right now are the fuel filter, PCV valve, hinges, and cap/rotor. I get paid today and it'll be more than enough to pay for this, so i'll save the rest and start saving more money for the project. The first things I will be doing is the clutch/axles/bearings and getting my D15B head worked on. I gotta save up $525 for the head work.

Today I was messing with the FITV because I heard that the adjustment inside of it can play a lot in what RPM your idle is at. I had already tried the adjustment screw, and when I heard this information it made sense since I have had my FITV replaced before and it of course wouldn't have the same adjustment as the old one.
So anyway, did that... but when I was reaching away, I bumped a wire off the distributor cap without noticing and proceeded to start the car. Car ran on 3 cylinders for a few seconds, and then died. Car wouldn't start back up. So, turned out I fried the ignition coil... a $75 mistake. I replaced it and it worked. At least it starts up stronger than ever before though.

ya you gotta hate that weak @ss honda ignition unit! those dam things are way to easy to burn out! makes you really want to just go ahead and upgrade to a nice aftermarket ignition addon!
Got the JDM Sunvisors today and installed them. Also got the rare JDM brackets (you'll see the difference in the pics)... the USDM ones have to be bent for this to work, but JDM brackets make it a direct swap. Got the brackets for free because i'm the first guy that the seller has given the brackets to and I took pictures for him for the install process of the bracket.
It also has a diagram on the underside of the visor on how to unlatch the roof. Could be handy because every time I ask a passenger to unlatch it on their side they can't figure it out so now I can just flip it down and show them.
