So saw a deal on some Del Sol seats today, $120 and they are in pretty damn good condition, best i have seen so far and i have been looking for weeks. The guy had a crx with a b20, didnt wanna have to weld the seats to make them fit so was just selling them, not sure where he got them. Need a little cleaning, sprayed them with new car smell spray and gonna hardcore vacuum tomorrow.

These seats are so much more comfortable, I do not know what was wrong with me driving with the DX seats, the f-ing suck... I really really love these seats. Anyway, had to drive to Compton to get them, 40 miles there and 40 miles back, took a break there to install (took one seat out before going there to make room) and the car did not seem to have any problems even though it has a leaking head gasket, although right as I pulled into my driveway the temp gauge got hot, luckily it was already in the driveway, no noticeable damage although I am sure it made it a lot worse. Only need it to get me 3 miles there and back to school 3 days a week for 2 more weeks... and to the mechanic i guess but it could just be towed (AAA). Also the new mother board works great!

Gonna fix the hanging bumper and quarter panels, touch up a little paint inside, sand some rust and paint little spots, outside of that just waiting to do the swap!

I really do hope the engine doesnt blow on my because if i can afford it i really want to repair head gasket and do valve adjustment then throw the d16y7 in a hatch and sell it to someone, should be able to keep me on my feet for a little while after spending on the type r swap.

After: what a difference too, looks/smell so much better (not that it really smelled before) but the red is fringing a little on the bottom nothing too bad, also found a couple little rips and holes not sure if there is anything i can really do about it but it isnt serious or noticeable. I love these seats. The color difference is cause it is still wet and some shadows through a tree -_-

Fixed the rear bumper, just had to get under car and bend the clips the bumpers rests on further down. It isnt perfect but a lot better, does not look like one side of my car is way lower anymore! Just need to this to the front bumper (not as bad) and fix front passenger quarter panel alignment...

Then lastly I got another set of 4 special tire lugs to make it match better but more so to have another key since my only other one is in the trunk under the subs ect which was hell to get to outside of an emergency. Now I have a spare key with all my other tools.

Everything else is waiting for me to get my financial situations perfectly stable before I spend the cash for the engine. Once I am set i need to remember to get 2.5" catalytic convertor, i think i should get a new fuel pump for a new engine, and i really think i should do the integra disc brake conversion also. Other random things are my cluster, i want to look into a type r but lol $300+ no way im wasting money on that so instead ill get a si cluster i guess, my tach only goes to 8k... and have 200k miles almost, i want at least 9k read out and 20k miles since that should be relatively close to the engine.

I'm totally interested in the ex cluster if its going for a reasonable price. Can't find one around here at all, and I don't wanna spend the money on an SI or typeR cluster. But I gotta get rid of this stupid monster tach asap.

So I have been really busy with school, more busy with putting off school work -_-; but I have been reading and looking here and there everyday for more information on the swaps. I have been teetering between a b18c and the b16b, I know the b18c is about 20 more torque and a little more horse power but it will also cost more for the complete swap setup, LSD tranny and all. I was also looking at the b18c type r but at over 4 grand for the engine alone I disregarded it. So after much deliberation I am going to go with the b16b like I originally decided and keep my civic pride

I will probably keep it all stock and drop the engine in, I will probably use the stock exhaust manifold since it comes with it and I imagine that since I am not changing anything else all stock will be fine but what I am wondering is:

Should I get a SRI or CAI for the B16B?

It is about 100F degrees everyday here during summer and not much rain or water. Makes me lean towards a decent CAI, but I read that SRI have better throttle response... hmmm...

Also will grab NGK sparks/wires, probably timing belt/water pump, walbro fuel pump, integra brake conversion, looking out for some gsr swirls and the alternator from an ITR since it has higher output and pops right on (this should solve some of my low power issues). Considering a new radiator to go with the new set up and considering ditching my engine bay battery and throwing the a pillar cluster in the car with oil pressure/voltage gauge. (I will leave a slot for eventual boost gauge.. one day, one day).

Besides that I will probably spend money and replace my bad amp (only rear speakers work right now) and get some better speakers in car (fronts are crap).

The other option is to invest in some adjustable cam gears, chipped ECU and a header (already have the apexi WS2 to throw on the car). Then I guess I would be able to squeeze a little more power out of the engine, I am also taking engine tuning and dyno tuning for performance orientation next semester, so during fall I will be able to learn to and then tune my car myself with the schools dyno which leans me towards investing a little more in performance parts instead of audio equipment.

Also will start a short restoration build thread when i do the d16y7 swap into another chassis to sell it. That should be interesting haha...

Just "thinking out loud" but I always love some input or ideas if anyone has any.

So I am going to my budgets limits but I will be able to do this. The B16B i wanted sold this morning so i just missed it but the next one comes in on thrusday/friday so i got it put on hold for me. My mechanic will install for 500 and the timing belt and water pump and any seals i might need i just hope wont run me way over that. I hate california tax, it is adding an extra $450 to the cost of the motor for god knows what ends and if i ordered from anywhere else in the country i would not have to pay any tax... but they refuse to work around it with me. So looks like ill get the engine and drop it in (will have plenty of pics) and then the car will sit at my house for a few weeks until i can somehow sell my d16y7 engine which no one wants, and if i cant then ill just have to hold onto the engine and throw it in a hatch back in 6 months and sell it as an actually car. The highest offer i got for the engine so far was $100 MAYBE. Lame. Anyway I will not be able to put the exhaust on the car until i sell the engine or maybe someone will actually give me birthday money this year -_- but i doubt it. So outside of selling my engine my budget is too tight but i wont need a car for the next few months anyway and I need to take the other engine out anyway if i want to sell it so regardless i am gonna end up with some down time from having a car. I have considered just getting a b16a or something else but i know ill regret spending almost as much money for something i dont even really want, i would rather play the waiting game and get what i want in the end. Anyway just an update because i was all happy to go get the engine today but they sold it just before i could get it. Will have pics by the end of the week hopefully.

Those little things will add up quickly. Just be careful since you will probably spend more than you think.

You are in CA? How is the BAR or whatever it is called going to work for your car?
