Increasing membership?
Solution 1, solution 2; many, many other options as well, just takes some tweaking by an admin. That said, there's very little spam activity on this forum, but it grows in proportion to traffic.
VTX, you really need to let it go; one of the mods might have made a hasty decision, but we do have a rule stating the mods and admins have the final say in any issue. If it makes you feel better, you can blame the whole thing on me even though I wasn't even logged in when your thread was deleted. It wouldn't be the first time a forum member was incredibly p***ed at me, and I'm sure it won't be the last.
frank are you done whinning yet? really are you still butt hurt about this? Its been what two days now? Like i said before, virus or no virus, you still broke the rules so stop complaining about the mods how im just the biggest f**k up you have ever met in your life. Go stay at 8th gen forums. All you have done here is b!tch and complain.
well i see where both of you are coming from! but i tend to lean toward cronics side because like he said this is a civic site and the way i see it it would be wrong to post anything other than civic information.
and just for example, had your post been malicious or a scam, how many people would have been angry, including myself, at the staff of this forum.
i dont know what was said originally, but i think given your little contribution to the forum and the recent attacks, i think he acted appropriately!

I have a suggestion regarding the spammers. I haven't been on here much, but from a moderating perspective, I know it's pretty crappy sometimes. I'm not sure if there's already something like this considering I joined a long time ago and I don't remember.
I say implement a way of restricting new member posting. Say like you can only post 1-2 (or more) posts a day for a couple days. After they've proved they're legitimate, they can start posting full time. Sort of a trial membership. That will cut down on spammers, trolls, as well as the people that make many useless posts in order to sell parts in the classified.
As far as membership traffic, the only way is advertising, which CAN be free, sometimes, but usually very expensive.
