You have to remove the bumper, there is also a DIY for this install. Try using the search button it should come up.

Hack saw and keeping part of it in the bumper worked for me. One day I'll get around to removing it entirely.

^ Hacksaw?! Wow, completely unnecesary. Removing the stock intake is a s simple as removing the plastic piping from the throttle body and following the intake piping down to where the filter box is. There will be screws holding it to the firewall and then it should all just pull off. If you run a short ram you technically can leave the intake piece that is in the bottom of the bumper, but it is unneccesary and looks bad. So for that take your bumpr off, I think there's a few screws, and just pull it out. You can have the whole stock removed and the new put on (reinstall is super easy, it's taking stock out that's time consuming) in under 30 minutes if you can take your bumper off quick.

The pipe that comes up from the bumper and goes into the stock air cleaner box is what I hacked off.

It was getting in the way when I swapped motors and was more of a stress reliever than anything

When I get a new front bumper cover I'll remove it the proper way. Does that work?
