You loose some torque with an exhaust, but most mods that increase HP sacrifice some torque.

On a naturally aspirated engine, 2.5" or greater MAY actually loose some power because the exhaust velocities are so low.

anything OVER 2.25 without internals will lose power.

I got 2.5 inch exhaust on my 99 si so i actually am losing power? would the intake help it or not.

If I add an axleback exhaust instead of a catback will i still lose power ? w/ kind of exhaust upgrade (if any) would you suggest if i wanted to increase horsepower?

A full catback (with cat and header is even better) will net an increase in power.
