When I put my V2 in I expierence noticable power gains throughout the rmp range... sans 6-7 rmp range, not much of an increase there. Never really expierenced any other intakes so I don't have anything to compare to.

aem's v2 is supposed to be nice, but i dont' see that much more of a performance gain over the stnd to justify the cost increase, if you want a cai i'll give you mine for your stock air box

I think I'll just get the V2 intake. Sometimes you got to take a gamble. But with a CAI like that it won't a big gamble. As soon as I get it on I'll let everyone know my experience from it

I thought the V2 was more like an SRI for the civic?

Evidently, it depends on the application. My friend has one on his '02 sedan and it's short, the filter is right there in the engine bay. Look at 01CivicEX's gallery and see the V2 there. I, on the other hand, just read the installation instructions for mine (99 coupe), and and it seems to pick up air from down in the fender. Says I need to take the wheel off to get it in there. Looks like it too, from the pics. Definitely wasn't expecting that. Oh well. Now I really need to fix my splash guard

Yeah, taking off the wheel, splash guard, and wheel well lining was DEFINATLEY the biggest pain in the ****. I was all worried about the throttle body and related hoses, then that ended up being easy. Getting everything off and back on again was way more time consuming, and not particularly fun. [:'(]
