I would use a couple nice coats of a high temp header paint. If you put a lot of time and effort into the paining it should look great and not burn off so fast. But a longer lasting solution is header wrap, don't listen to all of the horror stories of header wrap, if you do it correctly it will not cause the header to rust or crack and will keep the underhood temps down, so that means cooler intake air as well.
