Default Cat back system.

Hey guys,

Whats the biggest difference between the $500 Greddy cat back, and the cat backs that are on Ebay for $240 with shipping? Is it the sound, and or the power, or both? Here are some links to a few cat backs on Ebay, I was thinking about getting one of these, any suggestions, advice? Are they any good?

First of all, the cheap ones are not going to have the same durability that the real greddy has, meaning, that it could rust sooner and eventually, you'll have holes. Second, I can almost guarantee you that the cheaper one will not bolt right up - you will probably need to make some modifications to the flanges and maybe hangers. And lastly, it's very likely that the cheap exhaust will sound worse than greddy. As for the power gains, than you would certainly get more from greddy, because I'm sure that the pipe curvatures, the muffler, and such are better engineered. Also note that the diameters of the pipes and the mufflers are almost certainly different, which would affect the sound and performance.

and BTW, they say that it will never rust. That sounds like a total BS to me, because if this was true, they would more than likely offer a lifetime warranty or something similar. I wouldnt trust the seller either. Notice how in you last link, it says in a big print: 100% money back guarantee. If you scroll down a bit, it says "All sales are final no refund or exhange is offered, no shipping cost will be refunded under any circumstances if item is defective you need to contact manufacturer" That's seems rather su****ious to me.

Yep thats right. So spend some extra money and get greddy. It will save you some money and time on the long run. As always you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the reply guys. It's kinda hard to believe that a company would make a cat back if it's gonna be pretty much ****.

they make them because it's cheap, and believe it or not people buy those without doing a research. I wouldn't trust the seller, if he can't even make up his damn mind about the refund policy.

It has alot to do with the way the piping is bent also, expensive setups are mandrel bent. This is bent by a machine and has no wrinkles in the piping making for smooth air flow, cheap systems just bent the piping to where its all wrinkled and **** which messes up the air flow and will eventually crack. Also, the muffler is MUCH higher quality and they will bolt up no problem like said above. Cheap setups NEVER bolt up right, there is always something that needs to be fixed on it. They cost $500 for a reason and IMO its worth it.

I hear you fellas, it all makes sense. But on the website it says that the pipes are mendrel bent, are they false advertising? Or they really don't care what they say, just tryin' to make a buck.

they are prob sayin what people want to hear. might be correct might not be. buyer beware. if you want a nice setup for a little bit less look into Magnaflow. it is all SS the resonator, muffler, and tip are all polished SS. mandrel bent. exact fit no modding needed.
