Default Catalytic Converter...

I was happy to know that my Magnaflow cat-back exhaust arrived yesterday.

I was hoping to install it this weekend in my driveway. I took a closer look under the car at the catalytic converter portion and I see this:

So I guess at one point the previous owner had something fixed/replaced (as far as I can see).

Can anyone help me out here? What are my options (preferably the cheapest)?

My guess is it will need to be cut and welded. Probably not very expensive at an exhaust/muffler shop.

buy a direct fit high flow cat. it looks like in the pic theres a test pipe though, that you could put in place of the cat. i dont recommend this as it is illegal and pollutes the world, but it would certainly be a good temporary fix if youre dying to install the exhaust.
