Default Catalytic Converter

Went to the parts store today to possibly order a cat. I got stumped though when he asked me if mine had 1 sensor or 2. Also I'm assuming I'd use my original Sensor since he said they cost about 500 bucks if i wanted one.

Anyone who's done a cat switch to high flow did you buy the 2 sensor or 1 sensor cat?

What model do you have? Things will get frustrating with a DX/LX/CX, but with an Si/EX you are good. You will need a cat with just one bung, you have 2 sensors, one in the manifold and one in the cat. Even if you got the 2 sensor cat, just plug one of the bungs and if the cat is doing it's job, you're good.

I bought a magnaflow direct fit(bolt on) high flow cat for $140 and it used one sensor just like stock. And no they don't cost $500, I've seen them for $175-200 online.

Be sure to get an O2 sensor socket, I think they're around $10-$15

Yeah, get one with one sensor. Your primary o2 sensor should be in about the middle of the manifold itself. And personally, I've always just used an open-ended wrench/a crescent wrench for my sensors (if you use an open-ended wrench, it's something big... like 21mm maybe?).
