Catalytic Converter
I just changed the catalytic converter on my wifes 2000 EX. I replaced the stock one with a magnaflow. I didn't realize how much louder this would make the car with the rest of the exhaust being stock. Any suggestions to make it any quieter? Or is buying a different cat the only option?

I have a magnaflow cat on my 2000 ex, already had intake and catback exhaust. I didn't notice anything get louder. Every once in a while I get a CEL for the cat, I just reset it when it does that. Comes back on randomly, like weeks after I reset it.
When you took out the stock cat, there should be a gasket at the end of the header piping(where the cat gets connected by 2 bolts). Shaped like a cone shaped washer or a countersunk washer.
On the side where there's 3 bolts connecting the cat there should be a thin gasket(your magnaflow cat should've came with one)
Make sure you re-intalled the O2 sensor on the new cat. If both gaskets are on, everything's tight and the sensor is on the car should not be any louder than stock.
