theres ALOT of threds posted about this question, use the search feature to get more ansers...cold air gets more "cold air" and produces more power, short ram is incase your concernd about the rain and opens up the flow but dosent get you as much power

go with AEM CAI V2 That's what I'm going with, since you get a substantial amount of hp compared to the Short Ram.

AEM SRI claims to add: HP & Torque: 5 HP/7 lb ft Torque (approx. $90 USD shipped)

AEM CAI claims to add: HP & Torque: 15 HP/12 lb ft Torque (approx. $200 USD shipped)

AEM CAI V2 claims to add: HP & Torque: 16 HP/20 lb ft Torque (approx. $250 USD shipped)

So you can see the SRI is alot cheaper than the CAI but offers alot less HP and torque. The V2 CAI is a little better than the first but more money. If your looking to get the best possible air intake system for this price range I would say it's worth going with the V2. The V2 utilizes a dual chamber which helps charge the cylinders with air throughout the entire RPM range. Basically it means that it will be beneficial at low and high rpm ranges whereas the SRI is mainly beneficially at higher rpm ranges.

i have the aem sri and i wish i had a cold air now. i posted a vid of my 96 coupe in sights and sounds if you wanna hear it. but the sri sounds really good and it seems to pull a little bit harder but i didnt really notice much of a gain in power. it may just be a mind thing because of the huge difference in sound. i got impatient andwent with the cheaper one and wish i wouldnt have. i can pop the hood and feel my filter and it will be warm where as with the cai it shouldt be. but those are just my opinions go with what you want. hope that helps you out though.

those numbers are waaaay over blown. probably more like 4/2 6/3 and 8/5 and thats at the crank.

please utilize the search feature. this topic has been covered sooooo much on this forum. we almost banned a member a while ago because he asked this question 7 or 8 times in 5 or 6 different threads.
